Employee came up and said they can help and eventually said “I can help you out and give you my special employee discount all you have to do is fill this form out” and told her to fill in credit card application but never mentioned it to her until she asked BUT he told her it wasn’t a credit card. So yep she applied and she’s only 18 doesn’t even have credit at all. So she was completely clueless and just went along because she didn’t think a corporation like Best Buy would do anything bad. I bought a new washer & dryer from BB with delivery and installations couple of weeks ago. The delivery guys weren’t the greatest, and you could tell they were in a rush to leave. When they were done, everything was working so I let it go. This weekend I needed to move the washer and dryer to get behind them. That’s when I started finding issues with their install. The dryer was a steam model, so there was a Y splitter installed so the cold could run to both appliance. They had hooked the cold lines to both the hot and cold inputs on the washer, and the hot water hose to the dryer. They had installed the dryer cord without installing the strain relief, so the 4 wires were rubbing against the rough metal where the cord goes into the dryer. That’s a hazard just waiting to happen. My dryer outlet is a 4 prong. When I took the panel off, I found they had connected both the neutral wire from the dryer and the ground wire from the cord to the ground screw on the dryer. The dryer work...

I was checking through BestBuy games list and my jaw literally dropped. I mean this is a blatant scam. I'm pretty sure that most stores, including mine, have their open box computers re-sealed with the "Inspected By BestBuy" tape. When I'm with a nice customer, I'll generally cut the tape and show them the laptop if they want to see it and if they don't give any bad vibes. But if they're being rude or annoying, I just tell them that we can't open any sealed product. I just want to know, what is the official policy for this? I didn't realize it until I got the confirmation email that my auto-payment was made. Someone else's name was on the payment receipt email, but the last 4 of the card were correct. I then logged in to take a look. There was a different checking and routing account number listed in my banking profile, as well as a glitch stating all my previous payments on the card came from this other account. I canceled the payment once I noticed something was off. I confirmed my previous payments came from my own checking account, but I've definitely lost trust in Best Buy / Citi's online banking. Might want to check your online account info to make sure nothing looks off. I spent so much at Best Buy the past couple years due to the curbside. So many impulse purchases. I could click in the app, go pick it up (usually well within a hour), and have whatever I wanted. It really took a barrier away and made me do a lot more shopping. So much easier too, no whipping out ID cards, etc. However, in the past month or so, only very high value or physically large items seem to be eligible. I wonder why they made this change? Hi all. I am trying to get the name on my rewards account changed because I have legally changed my first name, and the person I spoke to had to go ask somebody, and then came back and told me to create a new account with my new information and call back to have the accounts merged. I have Total Tech and protection plans on everything I buy basically, and I just wanted to ask here if that advice sounds correct and if it's likely that this is going to mess with my protection plans/membership at all. I’ve been working at, what I’ve been told is, a large very high volume, high revenue store for about 6 now. We used to consistently beat our revenue budget by 10-15 percent. Hey everyone. Former Best Buy employee. I worked for Best Buy for 5 years. I was part of the original 2020 layoff. I was offered a spot on phones and moved up to level 2 very fast as they needed people. I left Best Buy last summer because the job on phones is not easy. You have little support or direction. If you are looking to stay with Best Buy i recommend phones. It keeps your tenure so you keep your benefits. I can tell you now there are days, weeks even that I regret leaving. Simply for the PTO. No where else has time off like Best Buy. And coming from 200 hours of pto is hard to cut down to 80. I work for spectrum now and my job is much easier. I like my job. But I miss the time off. I was affected by this recent round of “layoffs” from this restructure. I was a leader prior to C&D and became a consultant then a senior. From my perspective the entire C&D problem is from lack of forward thinking business practices from corporate. This program was launched much earlier than anticipated with little planning or consideration. These layoffs are affecting long tenured employees, top performers, families and friends. It’s not fair. Had a conversation with one of my managers today, I’ve been a PC-DA for about 9 years now, I’ve seen the field go through a lot of changes, but I just casually asked, “so when do you think a DFM role will open up for xx location?” And his response was “well the first issue is that you need to start calling it Assistant Manager, the DFM role is dead”. But it’s like damn, Assistant Manager? That is so retail, might as well be working at Walmart, we drive these fancy cars, still use agent double agent etc, wear badges, but the culture I used to know is just slowly disappearing. I got approved for a Best Buy Credit Card a few days ago and the card is supposedly in transit to me. This morning a hot item got restocked and since this thing sells out quick, I purchased with a normal credit card. My pickup date is next tuesday and I'm hoping to receive the credit card and activate it before then. I would love to take advantage of the 10% rewards and 10% coupon. Last month I was on the hunt for a new laptop and spotted a Dell XPS open box at my local Best Buy, and purchased it impulsively as I was afraid someone else would scoop it up if I didn't. A week after that I spotted an open box 14" MacBook M2 pro and got that too, and figured I would return whichever one I didn't like. I quickly decided I preferred the MacBook and returned the Dell. Then, long story short, there were issues with the open box m2 Pro's apple care license because it was rung up under the wrong account and didn't have my total tech membership applied, so I had to bring it back in and do an exchange (somehow my account got merged with my dad's as we have the same name). I kept the same laptop, but they had to ring it up as a return/purchase with a new SKU to get the apple care transferred over to my account. When I view my purchase history it looks like i returned one and bought another, even though it was the same device. Immediately after that...

I have done multiple activations today and my intra-day shows 1. I found out on my last activation, that my employee ID was not being captured by POS from CoreBlue. I added it manually. Howdy, Was at sam's club yesterday and saw an LG washer and dryer for $599 each. Sam's doesn't offer installation or anything and I don't have a big enough vehicle to take them, so I figured I'd go to best buy. Chatted online and called and they confirmed they would price match sam's club if I went to the store. Price in my local best buy Washer $1049 Dryer: $1049 Price at sam's club a mile away Washer $599 Dryer: $599 So I go into best guy, and wait to speak with the appliance guy. He's super nice and pulls up the item, and says they can call the local sam's club to price match and confirm price and stock in the store. Awesome I tell him how much it is and he opens their inventory software I guess and says it's $200 below their cost, so they can't price match it. On the website it literally says "we price match below cost" so I ask him and he says his manager definitely won't let him do it, but he can have him come over....

Just curious how many of you guys are going through this transition with me and my coworkers? I feel like Dad left to go get a pack of cigarettes and never came back home, lol … I guess it’s abandonment issues and sincere respect, appreciation and gratitude I have for my “old” GM who just left a few days ago. I know I’m one of the few here who actually likes their GM, but mine is/was fantastic! And I want to puke every time I think about the new Director/GM coming in and taking over the store. When my Microsoft Elite controller buttons began to stick, I was getting ready to ship the controller in for repair. But I was presented with the option to go to a “Best Buy Service Center” which Microsoft said, could service the device. After an hour of driving, I learned that “service a device” means put it in a box and ship it to Microsoft … something I could have done myself. I assumed they would repair it or replace it (like Microsoft will do). I want to write (complain) more but that’s really the entire story.
