Recently my store has started doing informal and formal write ups for not hitting membership goals. I'm a part timer, in college full time all year long and also Im not on the floor at all. (I work customer service desk alone most shifts) I'm still expected to hit some pretty ridiculous goals. The company is doing shit and I'm expected to pick up the slack for my coworkers who work full time and are doing worse than me. I see more customers than most people in a day and ask them all for cards (every way that the sups have asked me to) and none of them agree. So in the Connect app's recent update, it is now requiring access to all your device's personal files and pictures. When this app was first rolled out, it was stated over and over by our leadership that only the location would be needed due to being able to punch in/out of work on it. So I had the phone interview. Went good. In person interview with sales lead after some days, went good. Scheduled an interview with the manager a couple days after that. It just finished. He never verified pay (although we spoke of it in my second interview). He didn't ask about theft (apparently they ask this in the third interview). I bought a small $500 item for store pickup, marked as Open-Box Fair at a BB in New York ($200 off sticker). The Best Buy site said it was 50 miles from me, but that turned out to be 50 miles in a straight line. In reality it's a 6-hour round trip and $60 in tolls and gas. I know there's no way to ship these open-box items to my address, but is there at least a way to ask the store if they can move it to a somewhat closer store in the state? BB stores shuffle inventory between them sometimes, right? This is not about to be one of those “I bought this item 5 months and they didn’t want to accept my return!!” types of posts. I did however try to return a brand new never opened item I bought 21 days ago. Yup that’s right, three weeks ago! The cashier told me he couldn’t accept it because it was past their 2 weeks return policy. I’m thinking “this is an electronic store and you have a TWO WEEK policy?? Had a call with a customer who had wanted to renew his bby card online,but only currently had an expired card. I explained to him I can't renew the expiration on his card to show it it online for his purchase and offered the solution to mail out an non expired card to him.He quickly got upset and denied me trying help him send a new card out. I don't understand why he flipped so quick on me Iike dude I'm trying to help you and before I can even give another solution he cuts me off saying I was his fifth rep he talked to and I said I apologized that he had to go through that. I want to get a TCL 6-series 55" and there's a couple of last year's model left at a Best Buy about 40 minutes from me. I do not have a truck or van though - I have a 2022 Camry Hybrid. It feels like a relatively large car but I grew up with my parents driving compacts and subcompacts, so my midsize sedan is basically a truck by comparison. The rear seat has 55.7" of shoulder room. I am also willing to move my driver's seat a little bit forward to make room in the footwells, and I will not have a passenger so the front passenger seat can easily go up. If you buy multiple of the same phones from BestBuy, porting different phone numbers, the BestBuy website would only show "ESN/MEID" only after the order is picked up. On AT&T, the AT&T website only shows the picture of each line, but won't show IMEI or ICCID of any line — at least, I wasn't able to find how to find this info for each line. As such, how are you supposed to find out which device corresponds to which phone number? I got a buddy I play games with online that works at a BestBuy in central Texas. He loves the job, but he's actively encouraged to not take breaks or lunch. Just curious as to what you guys think would fix a lot of the issues/complaints we have with Best Buy. I have a lot of ideas on how but a few that stick out to me the most would be: Offer employee incentives for credit card/totaltech sign ups, the amount of money gets as a kickback Citibank is a pretty decent amount. Easily $5-$10 of that could be given to the employee that pitched and actually sold the card instead of just a “Nice job! Over the walkie.” On average I get 3 cards on an 8 hour shift, assuming it was $10 per card this would put me at $19.95 an hour instead of $16. I’m just curious to know if there are any other stories in the company that use VPLs for basically everything. Even though SOP states Vpls aren’t to be used as coverage, do code ones, perform open and closing duties, etc. Why is it that stores disregard that completely. There is a store in my micromarket that has an employee. This employee was part of the Specialty Appliances commission/spiff driven people. Hire mid 2022 does some good stuff. Januaryish they put 2 weeks in siting pay and was given a hefty raise. Now that they have removed the commission side of it they have again hunted elsewhere. Every right to do so. Its gone around though that the GM asked them to say a number to stay (the number is higher than 27 but I wont say how high).
